The Marienbrücke over the Pöllat Gorge
The Marienbrücke is in the immediate vicinity of Neuschwanstein Castle. This structure is separate and independent of the Castle and provides a spectacular panoramic view of the Castle and the surrounding Schwangau area with its forests, lakes and mountains.
Accessible by a lovely walk from our resort, or by shuttle bus or by coach and horses. The access route to Neuschwanstein Castle does not pass over the Marienbrücke.
The bridge spans the Pöllat Gorge (which is why it is also known as the Pöllat Bridge) and was named after Queen Mary.
