Deviating obligations for persons entering the country and contact persons

For recovered and vaccinated people without symptoms, the obligation to go into quarantine after entry from a risk area or after direct contact with a confirmed Corona case does not apply. The obligation to segregate still applies if

  • Affected persons enter from a virus variant area, or
  • affected persons have contact with a positively tested person who has contracted a virus variant with characteristics of concern that has not yet spread in Germany.

Furthermore, vaccinated and recovered persons may present proof of vaccination or recovery instead of the required negative test result. This regulation does not apply to persons entering the country from virus variant areas.
